Invasion Potential of Ornamental Terrestrial Gastropods in Europe Based on Climate Matching

چکیده
Invasive species are one of the main causes biodiversity loss worldwide. Pet trade is a well-known pathway for introduction non-native species. Prevention most effective, least time-consuming, and financially demanding way to protect against spreading invasive The part prevention early detection potentially high-risk species, as well successful implementation strategies in legislation practice. This study summarizes pre-introduction screening pet-traded terrestrial gastropod their potential occurrence EU territory. Based on list traded Czech Republic, important global hubs pet trade, 51 (49 snails 2 slugs) were analysed. Due lack certain native data, only 29 (28 1 slug) from 10 families modelled using MaxEnt software. Twenty seven have modelling, we considered following be candidates EU: Anguispira alternata, A. strongylodes, Laevicaulis alte, Megalobulismus oblongus, Rumina decollata, R. saharica. this estimation, present considerations with which further improve risk assessment recommend continuous monitoring market.

Modeling the effect of climate change to the potential invasion range of Piper aduncum Linnaeus
The potential effect of invasive plant species on biodiversity is one of most important subject of inquiry at present. In many parts of the world, the alarming spread of these plants has been documented. Knowing that climate exerts a dominant control over the distribution of plant species, predictions can therefore be made to determine which areas the species would likely spread under a climate...
متن کاملThreats from climate change to terrestrial vertebrate hotspots in Europe.
We identified hotspots of terrestrial vertebrate species diversity in Europe and adjacent islands. Moreover, we assessed the extent to which by the end of the 21(st) century such hotspots will be exposed to average monthly temperature and precipitation patterns which can be regarded as extreme if compared to the climate experienced during 1950-2000. In particular, we considered the entire Europ...
متن کاملConservation at a slow pace: terrestrial gastropods facing fast-changing climate
The climate is changing rapidly, and terrestrial ectotherms are expected to be particularly vulnerable to changes in temperature and water regime, but also to an increase in extreme weather events in temperate regions. Physiological responses of terrestrial gastropods to climate change are poorly studied. This is surprising, because they are of biodiversity significance among litter-dwelling sp...

Annotated Checklist of the Terrestrial Gastropods of Nepal
This is the very first checklist of the terrestrial gastropods of Nepal. It includes 138 species and six subspecies, of which 22 species are endemic and four are introduced. It highlights 34 species recorded for the first time in Nepal and provides new distribution records for another 30 species.
